On Sunday, May 17, 2009, Brandon Smith opened a letter from the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and received a call to serve in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West Mission.

And here are pictures of a typical day in a typical location in the Dominican Republic:

Yes, ladies and gentlemen… they have a KFC… I’M SOLD!
But seriously, this is the reason that I am going:

I report to the Provo MTC on August 12, 2009, and then after about 3 weeks there, the Santo Domingo MTC for another 6 weeks.
I’ll be posting updates the for the time leading up to Aug. 12, so look forward to more to come!

This is a tutorial that I’m working on for a family member looking to expand their programming skills, who came to me to find out about Object-Oriented Programming and Java. It’s hardly complete, and I’m very willing to accept useful critique of it.
Mosey on over to http://oftenimitated.com/tutorials to check it out.
