On Sunday, May 17, 2009, Brandon Smith opened a letter from the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and received a call to serve in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo West Mission.

But seriously, this is the reason that I am going:

I report to the Provo MTC on August 12, 2009, and then after about 3 weeks there, the Santo Domingo MTC for another 6 weeks.

I’ll be posting updates the for the time leading up to Aug. 12, so look forward to more to come!

So if you’re a reader of this blog (which you are, if you’re reading this… at least, that’s how I think this whole “reader” thing works), then you know that occasionally I descend from the ivory tower of sanity, and talk about something that is on the very edge of acceptability… my feelings.
